Hi beauties! I’m seeing more and more hair accessories being worn these days, both at events and in everyday life. While I myself am not a huge hair accessories-wearer, I DO think it can be a really cute, feminine way to add some glitz and glam to your look. 

There are a lot of different types of pieces that you can add to a hairstyle to give it a little extra something. The size of the piece that you choose plays just as much of a role in the overall effect as the color and style of it. You could have something very plain but if it takes up a lot of real estate on your head, it’s going to make just as bold of a statement as something that is very colorful or shiny. It’s these larger pieces that I prefer to the smaller scattered ones. 

Kate Mara’s hairstyle at the Oscars (pictured above) is a really nice example of a good, more grown-up hair accessories look. Just like these beautiful hair accessories from Rodarte, Miss Mara styled her hair in a lower, pulled-back fashion. I think this larger statement piece that’s more flat in dimension looks much classier than something uber-flashy. Wearing it more away from her face allows for an absolutely gorgeous look from her profile.

Hi lovelies! How fabulous is this ensemble?! I am beyond obsessed with the pink coat. It’s so chic…the color, the tailoring, everything; it’s just absolutely gorgeous. I really like the idea wearing a coat like this if there’s still a little coolness in the air where you live. The color makes it seasonally appropriate, even if the weight and style of it aren’t something that you’d typically pair with the springtime.

I have no idea where the pieces in the photo are from, but I went on the hunt for similar items so that you and I can try to recreate this look on our own! Here’s what I found:

To create a similar look, you need a great pink coat, a ladylike dress and some rose gold pumps. Polish things off with a pretty red pout and you’re set to go! Here’s where you can find the items in the collage:

Is it just me, or do you guys love waking up early on a Saturday morning, too? It may be the feeling of the whole weekend ahead of me, or just knowing that I get some quiet in the apartment since Elle is still asleep. Either way - I insure time to make the breakfast line at Chick-Fil-A! Come here chicken minis...

This morning I woke up around 7:30, hopped in the shower, did my hair and makeup, scarfed down some chicken minis (and two cups of coffee), then filmed a beauty blabber! I also edited and started the upload all before noon! I feel like I've accomplished so much, and earned myself a Haagen Dazs chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream cone. I know the saying, "You are not a dog, do not reward yourself with food." But I beg - like a dog - to differ. Bribe with with a dipped waffle cone and I'll do pretty much anything. With a smile.

Hi beauties! As you all know by now, I am loving all the neon colors this season. I wanted to put together a bright outfit for you this week, so I decided to pair it with the Zebra Cinnamon case from our Elle & Blair line for Cellairis. 

The bright orange is a really fun color for right now and I like playing with all the different ways that you can work bright accents like this into the rest of your outfit. I’m also quite into accessories at the moment, so I actually started building the look by first picking out a few of the smaller items and working backwards.

Bright nails are another trend that I’m loving, and this NARS polish is a near perfect match to the crystals on this case. Is this a color you would wear?

Quick Question: How Long Do You Keep Your Nail Polish For? 

You know those mood boards that people sometimes have to inspire them? I am a bit more of a hands on person, so I actually created a real life "mood board". I have been wanting a garment rack for ages, and I finally found this adorable one on Amazon for only $17. Totally a steal! It matches my room decor and looks totally fashion forward... I am so in love with it! Right now it is full of my favorite spring pieces, so lots of color, both neon and blush tones. I find myself getting dressed in front of this every day instead of venturing into my closet! 

When the season changes I will spice it up with new pieces, but for now here is a tour of what's currently on my fashion rack.

Spring Fling: My Favorite Spring Style Trends
 

Hey guys! I wanted to do a fashion post on my outfit from my and Elle’s ClevverTV interview last week because I was actually wearing a few of my favorite styles of the moment: bright dresses, skinny belts and a great pair of summer wedges.

To begin, I am all about the bright, layered lace on this dress. I bought it from TopShop when I was in New York for our Live Haul and it’s one of the turquoise Fit & Flair dresses. It’s super cute and fits really well. The base color of the dress is a bight turquoise, but it has a lace overlay in a green-ier shade of turquoise that gives it a nice sense of dimension. I actually like this tone-on-tone overlay style better than having something more contrasting, like a nude dress with black lace. I like that they’re both turquoise and that the detail is a little subtler…it’s just very eye-catching.

I tied it at my waist with a skinny brown belt that I’ve had in my closet since something like 6th grade. It’s nothing new, just a skinny brown belt. I’m actually liking skinny belts a lot, a lot, a lot more than thick belts right now. About two or three seasons ago I was putting a thick belt around my waist just about every single day. And while I’m not too crazy about belting the waist these days, if I do, I want it to be a skinny belt.

And finally, I’m wearing a pair of shoes that I think are a great style for spring and summer. They’re wedges, so they’re easier to walk in, and the coloring is perfect for a seasonal look. These were actually my “splurge shoes” for spring/summer 2012. I usually only let myself do two pairs of splurge shoes a year – one for spring/summer and one for fall/winter – and they become my staple shoes for those seasons. So I bought this pair when I was in New York, but really I had researched them and knew I was going to go get them long before I actually purchased them. It definitely wasn’t something that I bought on a whim; I had been wanting them for a while before I decided to buy them. They’re by Miu Miu, and while they were expensive, I absolutely love them and I’ve worn them just about every single day since I’ve bought them.

Over the years I have figured out a great way for me to keep track of my clothing. A few times a year I have a massive clean out of my closet and get rid of anything that I don't wear anymore for whatever reason (doesn't fit, don't like it, out of season, etc). Then, I take inventory of my Wardrobe Essentials, to make sure that I have fresh versions of each item on my list. I made a whole video on this, which you can watch here!

After that it's time to supplement my wardrobe with "the fun stuff"! Anything that is seasonal and on trend at the moment is fair game, and this spring I was loving all of the neons... and it shows in this haul.

Hey guys! For this Prom Perfection post, I thought we could talk about the one thing that immediately comes to mind when most girls hear the word ‘prom’: the prom dress. Specifically, the long vs. short dress debate.

For those of you going this year, what style dresses are you liking? Are you going to go with a short or long style? I don’t really have a preference between the two lengths and think it’s more about what the trend is for where you live. Because I know that in warmer states like Florida and California, a lot of people tend to go for the shorter dresses, but in Tennessee everyone wore long. So while personal preference is definitely one factor, a lot of the time I think it comes down to just where you live and what your school is like.

Hi beauties! This month I've really been getting into photo editing and sharing apps on my iPhone. My favorite sharing apps are instagram (user name missellefowler), and Pose (user name ellefowler). For beauty and fashion stuff though, Pose is definitely my go to app.

Pose is a free app for iPhones, iPod Touch, iPads, and other mobile devices. It's a fashion-based app that lets you share pics and details on all of your favorite looks. It’s basically a virtual haul in photo form! This is the perfect app for anyone fashion and beauty obsessed. It’s also a little like Instagram or other photo-sharing apps in that you can “pose” anything you like, so you don’t even have to be into hauls or fashion to enjoy it!

Last night I flew in very late from New York, and wasn't snuggled in my bed until well past 3am. I woke up bright and early, and felt surprisingly cheerful, so I decided to let that show in my outfit choice. I paired a pink J. Crew skirt with a white tank, also from J. Crew. Then I added a bright scarf from BCBG and a neon pink bag from Diane von Furstenberg. My phone case is from our upcoming Flaming Couture line (which is being released soon!!), and my nail polish is Dance Baby by China Glaze. I also wore tan strappy heels, which unfortunately you can't see in this picture!

I absolutely love the way this outfit looks and I have felt very springtime and bouncy all day. I believe that what you wear can totally affect your mood, so try to wear some bright colors this weekend!
