Imagine a world where the government told you who to marry and love. Who to have a family with, who to spend the rest of your life with. That is Cassia's world. Check out my review on this amazing book!

the second book isnt as good!

Thanks for the review—I have major exams next week so can't read like I want to, but this will be the first book I buy afterwards. I got some Kindle vouchers for my birthday and can't wait to spend them—on this, and Insurgent! I've got really into the young adult 'dystopian' genre, and I'm not ashamed to say that despite (nearly) having a degree in English Literature, this genre is still my go-to when I just want to relax and read something for pleasure!

One question that I get asked frequently is why I like to read. It seems that there are many people out there who are non-readers, but love the idea of being a reader. I can relate to this feeling, because I am a non-runner but love the idea of being a long distance runner. That's the same thing, isn't it?

In today's video I address this question with my own advice for non-readers who want to start loving it. I honestly think that if you find a book that interests you, and then make it fun, you will start enjoying it! Just try not to put pressure on yourself to read a certain amount of pages or chapters... just relax and read until you want to stop!

Do you agree? If you guys have any other advice for non-readers please share it in the comments below!

How's everyone's Monday so far? Did you have a nice night last night? Sunday evenings are such a reflective time for me. I sit down with my agenda, idea notebook, and life binder and look back on the week. I normally plan out my next week, giving myself some weekly goals and making sure I have a good grasp on what I need to accomplish in the coming week. I also use this time to catch up on my YouTube subscriptions, and particularly like book reviews! I don't know what it is about Sunday nights that make me want to listen to people talk about books, but I have a feeling it's because I am in a quiet, "reflective" mood. For those of you who feel the same way, here is my latest video contribution... a book review on Delirium by Lauren Oliver.

What do you spend your Sunday evenings doing? Catching up on homework? Reading a book?

Hi lovelies! As you all know, I’m a big reader. I love curling up with a good book, diving into the story and letting my imagination wander. I usually stay pretty absorbed in a book until I’m through with it and then it’s right back to the store to pick up another one. Recently I’ve been on a bit of a roll with all my reading…I feel like I am constantly looking up new titles and adding them to my list. Does anyone else feel like their ‘I need to read that’ list is getting long these days?

Anyway, I thought you guys might be interested to know how I go about picking out all of the books that I feature in my Glitterature posts, so today I thought I’d share how. Smile

I usually start by taking note of the suggestions that you guys leave in the comments of my previous Glitteratures. If I see that there’s a book that keeps coming up over and over again, I’ll write it down on my list and continue reading comments and adding to my list until it’s nice and long. Once I have all of the book suggestions I go down the list and read up on what each one is supposed to be about until I’ve narrowed it down to my final selections. I really like to pick from this because you guys always have good recommendations and I like knowing what you all want to see next!

I also like going to BarnesandNoble.com and clicking on the “Teen” section and it always has their most popular sellers right up on the front, so I’ve found a couple of new books through that as well.

I really try not to judge a book by its cover, which is why I really do my research beforehand. Inside the most obscure little book might just be the most magnificent story…you never know!

How do you decide what to read next?

Glitterature: Shiver Update

Hey book worms! If you watched my last Glitterature video then you may already know that I just started reading a book called Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater, which is part of the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. This series was recommended to me by one of the employees of a bookstore I was at recently. I was sitting on the floor in the fiction section just thumbing through books when one of the employees came up to me and said she knew a book I’d love. She said if I liked Twilight then I’d love the Wolves of Mercy Falls series so I bought the first book, Shiver, and I’m really really liking it. It’s about werewolves and it is very well written. And the bookstore employee was right—it totally reminds me of Twilight because it’s written in a kind of romantic and soft tone.

Have you read Shiver yet? Or heard of the Wolves of Mercy Falls series? If not, I really recommend it!

As promised in my last Glitterature update post I have started reading before bed again! You might get a few Glitteratures close together now, because I am reading a few more that I should complete soon. Finishing this series was a little sad because I really enjoyed it, but the good news is that a spin off series is coming out! I think the first book is already on shelves... you know what that means! Yup, I need to do a book haul soon...

xx,
Elle
