Hi loves! Happy Valentine’s Day!!! If you’re in the mood for some feel-good entertainment or want to escape to a happy place, I’ve put together a list of my all-time favorite girly romantic comedies. Nothing sappy here…these are the gems that will make you laugh and that you’ll want to watch over and over again if you’re anything like me.
Here are my top 5:
1. Never Been Kissed. I LOVE this movie. This was the first one that came to mind when I was putting together this list.

2. 10 Things I Hate About You. The singing scene in the stadium is so classic.

3. She’s All That. I used to watch this with my friends all the time. Can you believe it’s already 13 years old?

4. She’s The Man. Who else finds this movie absolutely hysterical?

5. A Cinderella Story. I love Chad Michael Murray. Where has he gone and how can we get him to come back?

I love all of these films and think they would be so perfect to play in the background of any Valentine’s Day-themed get-together you have with your friends.
Leave your top 5 in the comments!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!!! Since pretty much every song ever created has something to do with love, I thought I’d put together a fun little list of the ones that fit this day best – no matter how you feel about the holiday.
For a girly get-together:
"Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper
For an upbeat love song:
“Love You Like a Love Song” by Selena Gomez & The Scene
For some girl power:
“Rolling in the Deep” by Adele
For those looking for love:
“Somebody To Love” by Justin Bieber ft. Usher
For the 90s child:
“Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer
And the one that immediately comes to mind when I think about this day…(LOL):
“Stupid Cupid” by Mandy Moore
What am I missing from this playlist?? Leave your suggestions below!

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I thought it’d be fun to spotlight my favorite pink colored beauty products. When it comes to getting glammed up for V-Day, aim for flawless skin, rosy cheeks and kiss-me lips. Here are my top six pink beauty picks for Valentine’s Day:
- For a fun flush, try Dior Rosy Glow Blush in Petal (or try Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Fresh Pink).
- Make a statement with look-at-me nails by wearing Butter London’s newest shade for spring 2012, Disco Biscuit (Don’t you love the name?).
- Pink Sugar is one of my all-time favorite scents. Guys love it too!
- For a glowy finish, swipe on some Posietint by Benefit to highlight your cheek. This poppy-pink product can be used on your cheeks or lips. Sweet!
- For perfect skin, use the Beauty Blender to blend in your foundation to avoid any streaks or harsh lines. This blender is especially great because it doesn’t absorb any of the product like most blending sponges.
- Last but not least, give yourself kissable lips with MAC Viva Glam Lip Glass. I love the second Lady Gaga one, but any pretty pink gloss will do.
What’s your favorite pink beauty product for Valentine’s Day?

When it comes to decorating for Valentine’s Day I usually just stick to the kitchen. I will typically keep a bunch of fresh-baked pink and red goods around like cupcakes (especially red velvet), candy and other sweets and I consider these my decorations. Of them all though, my absolute favorite baked goods to keep around near Valentine’s Day are my sugar cookie lollipop treats.
If you’ve never made them before, they are super easy and fun to do.
Here’s what you need:
- Sugar cookie dough (whatever recipe you want to use is up to you – no judgment on pre-made cookie dough!)
- Heart-shaped cookie cutter (or other related shapes)
- Popsicle sticks
- Icing to decorate, plus anything else you want to decorate the cookies with
- Cellophane and ribbon (optional)
Directions:
- Roll out the dough and cut it into hearts using your cookie cutter.
- Bake according to the directions for your recipe and get your popsicle sticks ready before it’s time to pull them out of the oven.
- Slide the popsicle sticks into the cookies when they are fresh out of the oven and then allow them to cool. When they are done, they should be hardened onto the stick like a cookie lollipop.
- Decorate the cookies with icing, sprinkles and whatever else you want to use
- When they are all done, put them into individual cellophane bags and tie a ribbon around them for a cute packaged treat.
My mom and I made these one year for everyone in my class for Valentine’s Day and it was so much fun. I’ve also seen it done where you write the recipient’s name on the cookie in icing and then use them as name cards in the place setting for a dinner party or get-together, which I think is totally adorable.
Have you ever made these before? What’s another cute thing you could do with them?

Earlier in the week I told you guys about my Valentine’s Day treat box tradition that I had growing up, and talking about it got me thinking about how fun it would be to try making one again!
For a fun way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your friends, why not make a good old-fashioned Valentine Treat Box? You could either stick to the classic shoebox model or “think outside the box” and use a jar like the one in this picture:

Tell your girlfriends to make one ahead of time, or even better, make them together! Peek around the web for some inspiration beforehand and tell everyone to bring some crafting materials. Then compare your creations and swap your valentines
You could even fill them up with some of the tasty treats I recommended yesterday!
Are you and your friends having a Valentine’s Day party or get-together?

Hi beauties! Whenever I think about Valentine’s Day, one tradition from my childhood always seems to stand out in my mind: the box you would make each year and bring to school to hold all of your valentines in. Does this sound familiar? Every year, we were required to bring a box in to school and give each and every classmate of ours a valentine so that everyone had the same amount. For the most part we would all make our treat boxes out of shoeboxes, but that was about the only thing they had in common, because after that, we were free to decorate them however we wanted. When the holiday came around, students would deliver their valentines to the other students and at the end of the day you got to dig through all the goodies in your very own unique treat box.
As we got older, we had the opportunity to send other students roses on Valentine’s Day. This was always a fun tradition because the roses were actually delivered to the students while they were still in class throughout the day. Did/Does your school do something similar?
What are your Valentine’s Day traditions? Did you do something similar to either of these?

Hi loves! I came across this picture of a coin-covered LOVE sign and just think it is absolutely perfect for Valentine’s Day. This would make such a cute decoration that I would even leave up year-round. It looks like the artist just covered block letter cutouts with quarters, so here’s what I would suggest to recreate this cute sign on your own:
- Head to your local crafts store and pick up some block lettering in the size and style of your choice.
- If the letters are unpainted, paint them up. Stick with a color similar to that of the coins that you plan to apply. This will be the color that shows through between the coins on the face of the letters and what you will see from the sides of the letters when passing by. For that reason, I would suggest a white or silver paint to keep things looking neat. A spray paint would probably create the nicest, lightest finish.
- Grab all of your saved up change, sort and start applying! Don’t feel like you’re limited to using quarters on this one; for a version that’s friendlier on the wallet, I would suggest using oversized sequins (paillettes), which you should be able to find at the craft store when you’re picking out your letters. I also think it would be super cute to cover them in pennies for a bronzy-looking sign that would only cost about a dollar in change to decorate.
- Note: I would map out your plan of attack ahead of time so that you know just how many coins you will need and to ensure that you don’t leave any awkward spaces uncovered. Make sure your adhesive is strong enough to account for the weight of the coins.
Depending on the size of the letters you decide to use, you could hang this sign on the wall as an alternative to framed art, prop it on a table with other books and décor, or even just on the ground leaned up against the wall!
If you try making one of these, upload a picture to your profile and post the link in the comments below so we can see!
Have you ever tried a craft like this?

I love this idea for a Cupcake Bath Bomb and think it is absolutely perfect for Valentine’s Day. I think this would make such a cute gift idea and it looks like it would be really fun to make. Bath bombs are my favorite thing to toss in the tub so I flipped when I came across this “recipe” to make one on your own. Don’t they look so real?? Eggs and sugar are actually included in the "frosting" ingredients! Here's how to make them courtesy of Factory Direct Craft Blog:
Bath Bomb Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups baking soda
- 1/2 cup citric acid
- 1 tablespoon oil of your choice (olive oil will work for this)
- 5 drops of fragrance or essential oil
- 1 tablespoon water
Bath Bomb Instructions:
- Mix the baking soda and citric acid together to form a smooth powder, and then blend in the oils until the mixture is the consistency of wet sand. Drizzle in the distilled water, covering the water with the mixture as you pour. Be careful not to pour in too much water at once, or your mixture will start to fizz. Continue adding and mixing in water until the mixture feels like crumbly pie dough.
- Working quickly, press the mixture into a cupcake pan or into silicone cupcake liners. Be sure to use pressure and pack the cups until they’re nice and tight.
- Let bath bombs set up for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan or peel off the silicone liners. Now, we’re ready to frost!
Bath Bomb Frosting Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 tablespoons dry egg whites or Meringue powder
- 4 tablespoons warm distilled water
- 1/4 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon SLS Foaming Agent (optional)
- 4-6 drops of fragrance
- 4-6 drops of color
- Disposable frosting bag and your tip of choice
Bath Bomb Frosting Instructions:
- Mix dry egg whites, water SLS (if applicable) in a glass bowl, then add remaining ingredients (except for fragrance). If the mixture is too stiff, add a little more warm water. Mix on high for 7 minutes or until peaks form, and then blend in fragrance.
- Spoon mixture into disposable frosting bag, then frost bath bombs however you like. Let dry overnight.
Let me know if any of you give this idea a try. Do you have any fun DIY Valentine suggestions?
