UPDATE:
Hey everyone! Please read our update (below) regarding this meet up...

10 years ago, this country witnessed a tragedy that will never be forgotten.

The men and women whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001 will always remain in the hearts of many Americans, and we admire the strength these families have to persevere and continue on with their future.  In the immediate days and years after, New York (and states across the country) bound together in support and love to move past these horrible events, and to show the entire world that America will not fall victim to bullying through terrorism.

As the anniversary of 9/11 approaches, all the world will be focused on how we approach and react to this day and like many others, we want to convey the same message by participating in Fashion Week - an event that has taken place the same time of year for the past decade. The meet up scheduled with Teen Vogue for their weeklong Haute Spot event is one part of an entire week of shows and events that is meant to create excitement in the world for the upcoming new year. We are extremely appreciative of everyone's support, and wish you all a safe and meaningful day.

We recognize, and respect, that each person commemorate September 11th in their own way.

That day will forever remain in our hearts and prayers.

xoxo
Elle & Blair

Aww man!  I will be in NYC on NOvember 10th through 12th will you be there then?? I hope so!!:):)

wish i could go!!! :( if ur going, have fun!

please check out my blog, it would mean so much, especially if u commented/followed http://bbalways.blogspot.com/

i think everyone needs to calm down about the meetup being held today. elle and blair didnt plan for it to be today. its not like they did it on purpose and i dont think it disrespectful at all. i think some people just want something new to complain about so they're going to come troll on here

Elle and Blair didn't choose this date. They have been a part of NY fashion week, which is held the same time every year, for the past few years. If you're going to diss them, you should also diss all the designers having shows today, all the models walking in those shows, and anyone else attending the shows. Just because there are other events going on, does not mean these people don't appreciate and recognize what happened on this day. We cannot stop our lives every year and we cannot live in fear. If that happens, the terrorists have won. We will go on, never forgetting our past, but making a brighter future.

I agree with Amiee completely.

I understand TOTALLY what everyone is saying (espcially those who live in NY), but personaly I think that this country needs to heal. Not that we should forget or ignore what happened 10 years ago today, but moving on and giving people a reason to have fun on a past tragic day helps our country move up and out of the depression and sadness and to keep living. President Bush after the attacks said that we, as Americans, should get back to work and do our duties to the best of our abilities to honor those who were lost and I think that is a good mindset. Just my opinion...

-<3September 11th, 2001: NEVER FORGET<3-

i wish you guys would come to phoenix,Arizona it would be a dream come true!

I know its after this but i just have to say something(s):

i was only five years old when the terrorists attacked and killed so many innocent people. i live in nyc and my dad was supposed to be there that day. he wasnt. but i know so many who were. my friends dad was a nyc firefighter and the 2nd tower collapsed on top of him and they didnt find him for over 24 hrs. as someone who is personaaly affected by this tragedy, i still go to school on 9/11, my freinds whose parents were hurt in 9/11 still go to school. it is a message that we cannot be taken down that when you attack our people we wont stand for it. Elle and Blair said that they understand what happened that day. President Bush decided not to make 9/11 a national holiday, its too important to become a day were people forget what its about. and becuase he wanted to show that we cant be stoped we are a nation that is too strong. and elle and blair are doing what everyone else is doing in nyc they are doing what they haave to do getting done what needed to be done or wanted. because we live in the USA and thats our right as citzens. i understand why people would skip the meetup on 9/11 if thats the case i understand and extend my reguards to you.  but most of you dont live in NYC and probally are going to work or school on 9/11. Elle and blair are just like you  moving on not letting it stop them, because if they did then the terrorists win. 9/11 will never be forgotten and i think its a great time for people to get togethter and be happpy, remeber what they have to be thankfull for. sorry for the rant, i just had a point to make.
