“Happy as an elephant” probably isn’t an expression you’ve heard before, but after this Silly Saturday post it’s one that will make sense! Take a look at this adorable photo:
Have you ever seen anything happier?! That’s a smile if I’ve ever seen one. Here’s another happy little elephant for your enjoyment on this fine Saturday:
And my all time favorite "funny baby elephant" video:
I've always wanted an elephant as a pet, but these videos have made me place it at the top of the list of unusual pets I’d like to own!
If you could have any animal in the world for a pet, what would it be?
Have a silly Saturday, beauties!

Hey guys! It’s Pinecone again. Elle is out holiday shopping so I thought I’d take some time to tell you about what’s on my wish list this year. I’ll be sending out my list to Santa on Monday. I plan on putting my letter in mom's fireplace and then sitting on it until it magically disappears to the North Pole. I like to sit in her fireplace. She has two. The one downstairs always has hot things that I like to chase through the glass but the one in her bedroom just has wood in it that I like to sharpen my claws on. She says it's for decoration. I say, "What the heck is this wood doing here? Let me sharpen my claws".
In my very humble opinion, I’ve been a very good this year. I have been super snuggly, I have only broken a few of mom's kitchen plates, I have looked interested and intelligent when mom talks to me even though I am deaf and have no clue what she is saying, and I have only ruined one corner of her bedroom carpet by sharpening my claws on it. It's an instinct, I tell her. I'm a wild arctic cat. You can't just put me indoors and expect me not to have wild nail sharpening urges. I normally stalk the frozen wasteland, making snow angels and killing wild boars for my food. But I digress...
My list is short but full of very necessary things. Every cat probably already has these things. You might laugh at the simpleness, but this is what I would like. I don't ask for much. I'm like a humble giver. I give, I don't take.
Dear Santa,
I have been a very nice kitty this year. If you don't see my on the nice list it is because you have made a mistake. It's okay though, things happen. Earlier I made a mistake by knocking over mom's coffee. I might have done it on purpose. Just saying.
Here is what I would like:
- A window that can follow me around so it's always in front of me and I can always look outside.
- Tickets to the North Pole. I'm from there, you know. From the Arctic. I'm an arctic cat. See my white fur? I blend. Enough said.
- A laser pointer that never turns off so I can chase it and hone my skills for when I go to the North Pole (see number 2).
- A pet mouse. No, I would not stalk it. Or eat it. Or hunt it. How could you even think those things?
- My own Christmas tree. Mom won't let me break hers. She is such a grinch.
Love,
Pinecone "the Arctic cat!" Fowler

Hi guys! It took me quite a while to put this post together, but I finally found all the photos of your hidden pets! Like Pinecone, they really do hide in the most precarious, yet hilarious, places. Remember when I found Pinecone hiding in a box? Haha, what a silly kitty. Anyway, below are my favorite animal-in-hiding pictures from your fellow ElleandBlair.com members that really made me giggle
Linsay O’s cat looks conveniently comfortable…

JennyChoo’s adorable kitten enjoys being carry-on cozy
Too bad you can’t bring your pets to class!

What if you found Jenny’s surprise in your stocking this Christmas?! Puppy love

I don’t think lishthefish’s cute cat can hide properly in that vase. It’s a little snug, don’t ya think?

Steph P’s four pound pup, Cooper, hogs up her queen size bed!

Julia Bella had some trouble finding her cat...until she spotted her long tail.

These felines and pooches sure have found the most interesting places to hide. I love animals, they really do add such wonderful humor and love to our lives.
Which one is your favorite?
Don’t forget to upload your pet photos to your ElleandBlair.com profile page, especially during this holiday season since I’m sure there will be lots of photo ops considering the amount of boxes, wrapping paper and bows that come out around this time.

Happy Friday everyone!
I came across this hilarious video recently where a man comes home from work to find a huge mess in his kitchen with trash everywhere. He has three adorable dogs and he knows that one of them made the mess, but it’s totally obvious which dog was the culprit! Apparently Tank, the dog in trouble, was simply trying to help clean the trash and do some necessary chores around the house! Watch the video and let me know what you think:
Isn’t it so funny? I couldn’t stop laughing—they all look so innocent until you see Tank’s trash can “necklace”!! Not a great fashion statement…but super funny!
What was your last laugh? Share a link to your favorite funny video in the comments below!
P.S. Let’s all make a conscious effort to laugh a little more this weekend… It’s good for your health!

Hey everyone! It’s Pinecone here. (Elle and Blair took the day off because today is Labor Day, so I decided to blog while they're out!) Don’t tell Elle, but I decided to make my own ElleandBlair.com account. I get a little jealous sometimes because she spends a lot of her free time before bed on here, even when I am jumping around and trying to get her attention. I even tore down her blinds the other night and made a huge racket, but she just looked at me and said "Pinecone!" and then went back to typing away. I thought maybe if I start contributing to the site she would donate some of that time to more important things like rubbing my belly.
I’m sure you were all wondering how I keep my body in such good shape… so today I’ll be sharing some of my personal kitty fitness tips!
- Walk up and down the stairs once a day. I wouldn't suggest doing this more than once a day because it can be tiring. I always walk down first thing in the morning with Elle, because this insures that I get fed in a timely manner. I like to be fed within 5 minutes of waking, or else I get grumpy.
- Get plenty of beauty sleep. I suggest anywhere from 18 to 20 hours a day. As you can see in the photo above, Mom caught me taking a nap on the treadmill—one of my favorite places to cat nap. Anything less than 18 hours a day is unacceptable. Also, I think you should aim to nap in places that are annoying to humans, such as in the middle of a stair, on their laptop, or on the stack of laundry they are trying to fold.
- Run around in a circle 20 times in a row. Do 3 sets of 20 reps with a 12 hour break in between. I like to play with my circle toy (Mom blogged about it here).
- Eat healthy and often. Use your vocal chords to get what you want… I personally like to howl for my food. Mom always thinks I do this when I am hungry but really I just do it for control. I like to see her panic and say things like "Pinecone! You poor thing! Let me feed you!" Like putty in my paws.
After making a huge racket for my food I eat about a bite, and then jump down and act uninterested. Sometimes this backfires though... The other day I got scolded because mom said there are "Starving cats in Ethiopia".
- Exercise those legs! If you feel like you want an extra treat, stand up on your hind legs and hop around. The humans think it's "so cute". Or, you can just go all out and climb up your humans pant leg.
What is your #1 kitty fitness tip? Or how do you like to stay in shape?

As you know, Pinecone loves to sleep (just don’t try and wake him up, or else he gets grumpy)! Isn’t he sweet? He looks like a little baby all cuddled up and cozy just snoozing away. When I look at this picture it just makes me want to take a little nap myself. What a little angel!

As you know, I fly with Pinecone on a regular basis and he is a really easy flying partner. I’ve gotten a lot of requests on Twitter asking me for tips for flying with cats, so I put together a few of my best tricks and some things to be aware of when traveling with a kitty.
- Cats are an additional charge. Check with your airline ahead of time so you don't get surprised by the extra fee.
- Find a carrier that your cat likes. The first one Pine traveled in he hated, and it made traveling really difficult. Now he has one that he really likes. He curls right up in it and falls asleep and he doesn't make a ton of noise. I think the fact that he can’t hear helps him travel more easily since he doesn’t hear all of the scary noises planes often make during takeoff and landing. Pinecone prefers carriers with more support, such a small hard sided carrier to the soft sided ones... maybe because he doesn't feel like it is going to cave in on him. Just be careful with hard sided carriers though - some airlines don't allow them. Make sure to check with your airline ahead of time to see what is allowed. I have found that Delta seems to be the easiest to travel with Pinecone on. One trick to get your cat to be more comfortable in his carrier is to leave it open and on the floor for a few days before you travel. Put cat treats in there and encourage him to "hang out" in there on his own. Pinecone loves his little carrier and it doubles as his "cool hang out spot" when we aren't traveling.
- I keep Pine in his carrier at all times during the flight. He rides at my feet instead of a carry on bag. I take him and my purse and that’s it. I would NEVER recommend putting your pet underneath the plane with your luggage. I have heard horrible stories and would NEVER risk it.
- Feed your cat before you leave. I feed Pinecone the morning before we leave, even though a lot of people will tell you not to. I don't want him to be too hungry since it’s kinda a long flight!
- Pack your cat’s favorite blanket or toy. Make sure you include something your cat is very familiar with in their carrier because it will give them a better sense of comfort. Pine always travels with his favorite toy mouse in his carrier, and sometimes I will see him playing with it during the flight :)
Traveling can be very traumatic for animals, especially cats since they are prone to motion sickness. If you have a very difficult cat or a cat that gets scared easily, I recommend visiting your vet before taking your kitty on a flight. That way, your vet can prescribe your cat something to keep it relaxed and quiet for the duration of the trip. I have never had to give Pinecone anything to calm him down, but I think it is very common.
Do you have any additional cat traveling tips? I would love to hear them in the comments below!

Teddy did the strangest thing the other day… As I was taking a bath, he literally leaped straight into the tub with me! His little nails totally scratched me and it scared the heck out of me! He was sopping wet and I wasn’t sure what to do with him. So, I finally decided to put him in my shower since it’s separate from my bathtub to let him dry off. That’s when I snapped this picture of him on my phone. He looks so silly. LOL. Anyway, I don’t know if he was thirsty or just wanted to rub-a-dub-dub in the tub with me, but it was bizzaro…
Have you pets ever pulled any strange moves like this? Do they ever get into a little mischief? If you were able to catch your pet in the act, upload a photo to your ElleandBlair.com and post the link to the image in the comments below.

Hey everyone! Hope you enjoy this random Juicy Jabber vlog. My euro shams and quilt came in, so now all we're waiting on is my bed skirt, curtains, duvet cover and standard shams! I also talk about how flowers make me happy, and show Teddy with his new haircut. He's looking pretty fierce if I do say so myself. Let me know what color towels you think I should get for my bathroom, too!
