I have an obsession to admit. I don't quite know how to say this - but I'm addicted to something. It's not as bad as you may think, but it can be detrimental to my sleep schedule. Baking blogs. Yup, I said it. I love looking up yummy recipes online, but even more so, I love blogs all about it! I feel like I get to know the women who run these blogs and I start catching myself thinking about how their kids are doing and who will be posting on a certain day. I've been keeping my eye on BakedBree for quite some time now waiting for the perfect recipe, and it came right in time for Mother's Day!

Speaking of Mother's Day, I want to take a moment to thank my mom for being the greatest momma in the whole entire world! She's my biggest fan and always cheers me on. I love you to the moon and back, mommy! I wish I could be with you on this very special day, but since I can't I decided to bake you a virtual muffin. I know how much you would love these muffins, and I wish you could be here to taste them. Next time you come out to LA or I come to TN I'll bake 'em for you!

P.S. As many of you may know, a very close friend of mine passed away on February 19, 2012. I know it would mean the world to Sheridan to know that her mom, Sharon, would always be taken care of - especially on a day like this. Sharon, you are such an amazing woman and I know how much you meant to our sweet Shay. I love you so much and know she would love to be here with you today, and every day to follow. Your sweet angel is looking down on you, and I cannot wait until the day we will all see her beautiful face again. I love you and can only imagine how much Shay wishes she could be with you.

P.P.S. I also want to say a HUGE "Happy Mother's Day" to Sawyer's mom, Karen! You're amazing and I'm so thankful to have you in my life. I love you so much!

Is it just me, or do you guys love waking up early on a Saturday morning, too? It may be the feeling of the whole weekend ahead of me, or just knowing that I get some quiet in the apartment since Elle is still asleep. Either way - I insure time to make the breakfast line at Chick-Fil-A! Come here chicken minis...

This morning I woke up around 7:30, hopped in the shower, did my hair and makeup, scarfed down some chicken minis (and two cups of coffee), then filmed a beauty blabber! I also edited and started the upload all before noon! I feel like I've accomplished so much, and earned myself a Haagen Dazs chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream cone. I know the saying, "You are not a dog, do not reward yourself with food." But I beg - like a dog - to differ. Bribe with with a dipped waffle cone and I'll do pretty much anything. With a smile.

Mother's Day is 2 days away! Eek! For those of you looking for a last minute gift, I created a video with a few ideas. I have suggestions for both those of you with a little money to spare, and those of you with a little time to spare.


After filming this video I went ahead and completed the I Love You Coupon book that I described in the video. At this point you know what my moms favorite gifts were from me, so let's make this a year your mom will remember too. Unfortunately, not all years will be perfect (remember the year I made you a clay carrot, Mom?) but hopefully I can help you make this one special.

Here is how I made it:

1. Cut sheets of construction paper or card stock into quarters. This is the perfect size for this kind of book!
2. Hole punch your papers.
3. Attempt to not get the little holes that punch out all over your carpet, but probably fail.
4. Tie the papers together with ribbon. I used leftover Christmas present ribbon! I added extra pieces to make them extra flouncy.

After that all you have to do is personalize it! Inside I have a bunch of reasons why I love my mom and fun coupons for her to redeem. They are a bit different than from when I was a kid though... coupons like "Redeem for a free dishwashing" were replaced with "I'll come visit you whenever you want!" and "I'll treat you to a pedicure".

You can use this same book idea for other things as well! You could fill it with yummy recipes for her, or you could make it a photo book with pictures of you and her! Just get creative and make her whatever you think she would like!

If one of these ideas isn't your "perfect" gift, here are a few more!

A spa gift certificate for a facial or massage.

You can get her a baby plant with new gardening gloves if she likes to garden. My Mom always has fresh flowers going around our house, so this idea came to mind.

You could make her a tiny dainty ring like the ones I show in my Dainty Rings video. 

When in doubt girls, give her flowers. Every woman likes fresh flowers

A few nights ago, while suffering from my usual insomnia, I decided to embrace it and start filming videos. I ended up filming 2 that night, over a delicious steaming cup of coffee, and the first one was uploaded late last night! You know those mood boards that people sometimes have to inspire them? I am a bit more of a hands on person, so I actually created a real life "mood board". I have been wanting a garment rack for ages, and I finally found this adorable one on Amazon for only $17. Totally a steal! It matches my room decor and looks totally fashion forward... I am so in love with it! Right now it is full of my favorite spring pieces, so lots of color, both neon and blush tones. I find myself getting dressed in front of this every day instead of venturing into my closet! 

When the season changes I will spice it up with new pieces, but for now here is a tour of what's currently on my fashion rack.
