Sparkle & Shine: Beauty Sample Etiquette

I totally agree with you.

If I ever walked out of a store with a sample and nothing else I'd feel super uncomfortable. :-)

Awesome article, thanks for posting, it's really helpful!! There aren't that many guides out there for us bloggers and youtubers, so this is awesome!

If I am thinking about investing in an expensive foundation, I will always ask the counter for a sample so I can try it out on my face at home & wear it for a few days. I wouldn't want to be stuck with expensive, full-sized foundation that doesn't work with my skin! But if I want lip gloss or mascara (that is not too expensive), for example, I will just buy it smiley-smile.gif

Love samples!

For some reason I never ask for samples!

Thank you so much Blair! I never really thought about asking for make-up samples, but that is a great way to experiment with colors that you aren't sure about buying, or you don't have time to sample in the store. I will definitely try this! smiley-smile.gif

I don't usually ask but they just give them to me! Sometimes they put it in my bag, sometimes they just notice me hanging around a specific make-up counter with a puzzled look on my face. Anyhow, I'm happy to get those! http://rockingfabulous.blogspot.com/

Woah stores have makeup samples!? free or small price?! thanks so much though!!

i should try asking for samples.

I can attest to Blair's guidelines. I recently went to Sephora to get a new foundation, and the person who helped me gave me samples of the moisturizer and primer she'd used when she applied the foundation (which I bought at the time.) When I returned a couple weeks later to buy the moisturizer and primer, I got a sample pack of shampoo, conditioner, and a hair treatment oil just because (from the same sales girl).
