Misc & More: I Love Tiny Houses

InsideTiny House 2

Is it weird that I love looking at pictures of tiny houses? I know there’s this whole small house trend happening, especially in countries where space is limited, but it always fascinates me to see pictures of the tiny living spaces where many people live. Most of these houses are smaller than a bus! They are seriously tiny! Check out this link to one of my favorite tiny house website: Tumbleweed Houses

And no, these are not images of doll houses—they are actual photos of homes! Isn’t it amazing how small they are? And yet, they look so livable!

Inside Tiny House

Looking at photos of these tiny homes makes me wonder if I could ever live in such a small place. It makes you realize that you would have to cut down to the bare necessities, which would be difficult at first but would be an interesting process. Needless to say, I imagine it would be quite cozy.

These tiny homes also teach you how to utilize a space to its maximum capacity. In most of these homes, the bed is near the roof and every inch of the house is equipped for storage. It would be really cool to see these techniques applied to larger scaled houses. In fact, we can even apply these creative organizational principals to organizing our own rooms and spaces. Maybe try exploring hidden spaces in your room and think about how you might be able to use that place for storage! I recently saw a bedroom where the girl had lined up books under her bed instead of having a bed skirt, and it looked like a little library under her bed! It was a book lovers dream.

This is very off topic, but I have also always wondered what it would be like to live in an igloo. I don't particularly want to live in a house made of ice, but at the same time I think it would be cool to live buried under the harsh winds in a little warm caccoon (are they even warm?!) Speaking of interesting places to live, when I was little I really wanted to live in the Spice Girls tour bus from the movie “Spice Life.” I used to think about it all the time. Even now I wish I lived in a tree house so I guess not much has changed...

Would you want to live in a tiny house? Or a tree house? Or the “Spice Life” bus for that matter? What would be the one thing you would insist on bringing with you, even if you didn’t have the space for it?

PS: How many of you secretly want to live in an igloo too?

The house is so cute but how do you get in the bed haha!!!

So many people think that we icelandic people live in a igloo. I dont know why but they just do. Does anyone even know where Iceland is? LOLsmiley-foot-in-mouth.gif

It's a common misconception, most people assume that just because one doesn't live in a "known" country they live in the dark ages. I grew up in Venezuela and now that I'm in Italy people alway ask me "what was your house like?" how do you answer to that? 4 walls, roof, in a buiding..... like everywhere else in the world.... XD or better yet, "do you have 'this' or 'that' store there?" I 'm like "Yes... Of course..." and they go like "Wow" XD

Edit: Why did I just flag my own response???????? XD

Wow! although these houses are small they are adorable!

I saw one of these houses on TV. The storage is AMAZING!

That movie you're talking about is actually called "Spice World"! I just bought it last Saturday and remember watching it when I was younger. Such a cute movie!

omg those tiny houses are too cute! i would love to live in aigloo lol!

I'm from Australia and everyone assumes that we all live in the desert with kangaroos just jumping through our backyards! We have citys, mansions, massive shops etc. and I have never seen a kangaroo or a koala anywhere near my house. Oh and we don't say G'day either lol

I would love to live in one of those tiny houses, they're cute as, or the Spice Girls bus I always thought that was pretty cool smiley-smile.gif
